You will have read on the front cover that Guy Williams has passed away. I joined the club well after Guy stopped attending the meetings but from what I’ve heard since contacted about his death he was a remarkable man and one I wish I’d had the opportunity to meet. Darren Colyer tells me that he has been helping Guy’s wife sort out some of his things and will bring some along to the next club meeting. The trip to the Rolls Royce Heritage Trust will now be on Thursday 25th October. I will get the final details from Peter Pavey for the October meeting. In the meantime, you may recall he was trying to track down an example of the Merlin Models Boeing 40B, so if you know of one, please let me know. I’ve had a number of orders for“branded” clothing now. If anyone else is interested, please let me know at the next meeting or if you cannot make the meeting, by the end of this month please. Finally– this months meeting is the last before Scale Modelworld 2007, so please bring along your completed models for the “Best in the West” display ( including any last minute finishers unless the paint is still wet!). Steve Larkin has kindly volunteered to transport them for us again this year. |
