Secretary’s notes

 

Our August show is rapidly approaching and we will of course need lots of help with the setting up, running, and closing down of the entire event.  Pete Vill has taken on the job of running the “Front of House “ operation and will need people to man the doors, and Mike Lumb has taken on the task of running the Tombola this year.  Phil Jones made this a great financial success for the club , so please help support Mike by donating prizes for this years table.  They don’t have to be kits, wine, chocolates and any other item that people will spend money trying to win will all be very welcome!

I’ve also been contacted by IPMS UK with a request for volunteers to assist at Scale Modelworld this  year.  The organisers have asked if we can provide stewards for the competition area on both days. This is a big challenge for the club as it will require quite a number of willing volunteers, and I suspect is a

reflection of the regard with which the Avon club is held within IPMS UK, so I will be calling for names at the July meeting.

Has anyone got a 1/48th scale Monogram panther in their stash that I can borrow?  I have two that I have completely rescribed and would like to borrow an unbuilt kit to check the location of the various hatches and inspection points before I rescribe these on my models.  Your kit will be returned undamaged!
