This months meeting saw a very successful auction night, with lots of plastic changing hands and in most cases it looks as if they may actually get built, rather than add to the loft insulation– even the Starfix kit! We actually auctioned 36 lots, with £191.50 changing hands. Of that, £24 went to a charity and Alan Hawley kindly donated the £14 he made to the club funds. Bidding was lively on some items, and although a fair number of lots could be described as “bargains”, some decent prices were achieved as well.We also called for an interim dress rehearsal for SMW 2006 “Support– the unsung Heroes” and a fair number of completed and “in progress” models were on show. We are still a little lacking in civilian and figure models, so if you haven’t yet pledged a model, please talk to John Fountain and see if there is a gap you could fill for us. |
